India To Launch GAHNA, Nation’s First Sovereign Cybersecurity AI, At IIT Bombay E-Summit 2025

India is set to make a landmark advancement in digital sovereignty with the launch of GAHNA, the nation’s first sovereign cybersecurity-centric Small Language Model (SLM).

ExorionAI has developed the model and will formally unveil it at the IIT Bombay E-Cell E-Summit 2025, Asia’s largest entrepreneurial gathering, on 11 December 2025.

As India’s digital economy expands through record UPI usage and rapidly scaled digital public infrastructure, the nation faces increasing exposure to sophisticated global cyber threats.

GAHNA directly addresses this challenge. Built entirely within the country, the model safeguards India’s critical data, digital systems, and national cyber landscape.

Its flagship version, GAHNA CyberMind, serves as an advanced AI assistant for cybersecurity professionals and agencies.

It also interprets CVEs, auto-triages threats, provides remediation recommendations, and streamlines Cyber Threat Intelligence workflows.

The model also complies with India’s regulatory, linguistic, and infrastructural needs, ensuring it functions seamlessly within the national ecosystem.

“With GAHNA, India takes control of its digital destiny. We are building cyber resilience, not relying on borrowed intelligence,” said Dr Utpal Chakraborty, Founder & Chief Scientist at ExorionAI. “This is our sovereign AI—by India, for India.”

Sovereign-by-Design Architecture

GAHNA distinguishes itself through its sovereign-by-design framework. ExorionAI has built, trained, and deployed it entirely on Indian infrastructure, without any foreign dependencies.

Moreover, the model aligns closely with the principles of IndiaAI and complies with the DPDP Act, ensuring transparency, accountability, and secure handling of sensitive data.

Its lightweight SLM architecture supports deployment in resource-constrained and air-gapped environments, allowing government facilities, defence networks, and remote operational centres to use it effectively.

ExorionAI has crafted the model specifically for Indian cybersecurity contexts, SOC operations, multilingual environments, and national threat patterns.

Also, beyond technological innovation, GAHNA serves as a major strategic asset for India.

It delivers an affordable, scalable, and secure AI capability that startups, CERTs/CSIRTs, financial institutions, PSUs, and defence and intelligence agencies can readily adopt.

By providing an indigenous cybersecurity backbone, the model strengthens national security while supporting India’s long-term digital growth.

ExorionAI’s development of GAHNA marks a significant milestone in India’s mission to build trusted, future-ready, and sovereign cyber capabilities—positioning the country as a leader in secure and responsible AI innovation.
