Discover the new Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric

December 2026 is anticipated to see the launch of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric in India,  with a projected price tag of ₹ 7,00,000 to ₹ 8,00,000. Currently on the market, the Benelli TRK 502X, Moto Morini X-Cape, and Benelli TRK 502 are bikes that resemble Himalayan Electric. Another motorcycle that resembles the Himalayan Electric is the Honda CB500X, which will go on sale in India in January 2024.

The electric Himalayan is one of several motorcycles that Royal Enfield is developing. Although all of its motorcycles are in the high-end lifestyle category, it also thinks there’s space for an electric vehicle.

Aside from the electric Bullet, this bike is probably going to be among the first EVs produced by the brand to be introduced globally. A few months ago, we unveiled the exclusive concept image of the electric Himalayan. With its EV plans, the business intends to adopt a top-down strategy: in the upcoming years, it will initially introduce the priciest and most rare motorcycle before introducing the more reasonably priced models. Since RE has a solid lineup, taking this method will help it develop a strong brand memory and image because it won’t have to worry about ICE bike sales.

Meanwhile, a report claims that the Chennai-based business plans to introduce the L1A, or first electric bike, at some point in 2019. Whether it is the same as the electric Himalayan is a question we have. Nevertheless, we should anticipate that it will resemble the Himalayan 450 in terms of design, albeit without an engine and instead using a battery pack. It might employ a marginally altered framework and provide a respectable range to match its competitors worldwide.

Having said that, we think Royal Enfield won’t introduce an electric bike anytime soon because it doesn’t want to be among the pioneering businesses to use EVs. Numerous ICE products are in the works, some of which have had significant delays. Royal Enfield would prefer to address it before releasing its EV. However, there’s a good probability the company will introduce a concept electric bike early in 2019.
