“You call yourselves World Champions?” fiercely taunts England following India’s World Cup humiliation

England has been subjected to harsh criticism after losing to India by 100 runs in the 2023 World Cup, effectively ending their season. However, none of it has been more harsh than what Ravi Shastri said on television. After being down to 98/8 and losing their pursuit of 229, England finally gave up for 129. Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain, for example, reiterated their belief that Jos Buttler and his team are mentally deranged.while former World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan sensed that the string of defeats has had a detrimental impact on the morale and atmosphere within the dressing room. However, Shastri took his critique of the Three Lions to another level by challenging their status as the current World Champions.

“Spectators and supporters alike should feel devastated for England. Since they were defeated by New Zealand with 17 overs remaining in the first game, which they lost. In 20 overs, they were all out against South Africa. The game was over too soon. Then, in their encounter against Sri Lanka, they were all out in 30 overs.

SL pursued the target and won in 25 overs. They had lost eight wickets in thirty-two overs today. Assuming the title of World Champions? In other words, who will be upset about their performance if not them?” Before dropping another pearl, Shastri commented, “If someone asks what is the difference between India and England, it is of eight teams.”

England could lose out on the Champions Trophy-

England is now at the bottom of the standings after losing four games in a row. Their net run rate is an embarrassing -1.652, placing them even one run below Bangladesh at 10. England will like to win their remaining games against Australia, the Netherlands, and Pakistan for two main reasons.

For the Champions Trophy qualification as well as pride. The top 8 teams in 2017 World Cup will secure a position in Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, as was disclosed during the game last night. This implies that England might lose out on the tournament in two years if their problems continue.

“England will now have to play for dignity going forward. They are currently at the bottom of the points table, which is why I am stating that. Furthermore, only the top 8 World Cup teams will be able to qualify for the Champions Trophy, which will be held in 2025. Thus, it would be devastating for a team like England to miss out on an ICC competition of the caliber of the CT if they were to finish in the bottom two, Shastri continued.
