Although Delhi had a manageable target, they made things tough for themselves by losing wickets frequently despite sustaining the run rate. In the first 10 overs, Delhi scored 78 runs but also lost four wickets.

Tanuja Kanwar took the wicket of Shefali Verma, who scored just eight runs before being bowled (2/29). Before being caught leg before by Sneh Rana, skipper Meg Lanning scored 18 runs. Ellis Capse struck Gardner with two consecutive sixes, but due to a runout, her inning was also limited to 22 runs.

After allowing just one run to score, Jemima Rodrigues returned to the pavilion. While Kapp held one end, the opposing team kept losing wickets. In the fourteenth over, Kapp was also run out for the seventh wicket. Kapp hit four fours and a six in his 29-ball inning.
