“We always have the sixth bowler in mind” Rohit Sharma’s remark over 9 bowlers used during IND vs NED match

India, who topped the table and defeated the Netherlands for the eighth time in a row in Bengaluru, appears ready to defeat New Zealand in the opening semi-final on November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Indian team’s performance was best when every one of its eleven players gave it their all, placing them atop the points table. In order to defend the 410 run total against the Netherlands, India utilized nine bowlers. Out of the nine bowlers, two well-known players—captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli—also took the wicket. Due to Hardik Pandya’s injury, they both also took one wicket apiece to establish themselves as a viable alternative as the sixth bowling option.

In addition to these two Shubhman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav each bowled a few overs. Despite failing to register a wicket, they demonstrated their availability as a sixth bowling option for the remainder of the competition.

When asked “why did Rohit Sharma use nine bowling options against the Netherlands?” he said, “We always have the sixth bowler in mind.” As a team, we wish to develop those options. It’s significant that we had nine possibilities today. This was the game where we had the option to try different things.

“I’m really happy with how we’ve played in these nine games,” Rohit declared. From the first game until now, it was quite clinical. Various people have stood up, raised their hands, and completed the task. Everyone aspired to assume the duty. Playing at several locations presented a problem. We did a great job adapting. We played four straight chase games to begin the competition, and when we had to bat first, the pacers and spinners performed admirably.
