“Tomorrow Or Monday Will Be My Last Game Of Cricket,” Stuart Broad Announces His Retirement After Ashes 2023

The fifth Ashes Test will be veteran England fast bowler Stuart Broad’s “last game of cricket,” concluding a distinguished career in which he became only the second fast bowler and fourth bowler overall to collect more than 600 wickets in the format. Only behind his longstanding friend and pace partner James Anderson, Broad will finish his career as England’s second-highest Test wicket taker.

“I’ve always wanted to finish the series on top,” Broad said. “It’s been such a wonderful series to be a part of.” “I feel like I’ve been a part of one of the most exciting and engaging shows ever.

“I’ve got a love affair with Ashes cricket, and I think I wanted my last bat and bowl to be in the Ashes.”

At the conclusion of the third day of the fifth Ashes Test on Saturday at the Oval, Broad made the announcement. Earlier this month, during the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester, he had attained the milestone of 600 Test wickets.

The 37-year-old has taken 602 wickets in 167 Test appearances. Additionally, he has played in 56 T20Is and 121 ODIs.
