Sunrisers Hyderabad Set 227 Target For Kolkata Knight Riders After Posting 226/8 In IPL 2026 Clash

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set a challenging target of 227 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League 2026. Both sides are eager to register their first victory of the season in this contest.

SRH batted first after losing the toss at Eden Gardens on Thursday. They further posted 226 for eight in their allotted overs. The total was powered by an explosive top and middle-order performance.

The innings began on a positive note with an aggressive opening partnership between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.

The duo further added 82 runs in just 5.4 overs, putting immediate pressure on the opposition. Head scored a quickfire 46 off 21 balls, striking three sixes and six fours.

By the end of the power play, SRH had reached 84 for two. In the ninth over, they suffered a double setback as captain Ishan Kishan (14) and Abhishek Sharma, who made 48 off 21 deliveries, were dismissed.

With four wickets down by 9.2 overs, Heinrich Klaasen stabilised the innings alongside Nitish Reddy.

The pair, however, stitched together an 82-run partnership for the fifth wicket in 53 balls. Nitish contributed a steady 39 off 24 balls, including five boundaries.

Klaasen continued the momentum, scoring 52 runs off 35 deliveries, featuring one six and four fours, ensuring SRH crossed the 220-run mark.

For KKR, Blessing Muzarabani emerged as the most effective bowler, claiming four wickets for 41 runs. Vaibhav Arora picked up two wickets, while Kartik Tyagi and Anukul Roy chipped in with one each.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan (captain/wicketkeeper), Heinrich Klaasen, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Aniket Verma, Salil Arora, Harsh Dubey, Shivang Kumar, David Payne, Jaydev Unadkat.
