Royal Challengers Bengaluru Crush Delhi Capitals By 9 Wickets In One-Sided IPL 2026 Clash

Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered an authoritative performance to defeat Delhi Capitals by nine wickets in their IPL 2026 fixture at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The reigning champions dominated proceedings in every department to secure an easy win.

Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar spearheaded a relentless bowling attack, dismantling Delhi’s top order with precision and movement. Their incisive spells left the hosts struggling at 8/6 within the opening four overs.

From there, Delhi Capitals found themselves in survival mode, with only Abishek Porel offering resistance through his innings of 30 runs.

Pursuing a modest target of 76, Royal Challengers Bengaluru began confidently and maintained control throughout the innings.

Jacob Bethell set the tone early with an aggressive approach, while Virat Kohli got going with a well-timed boundary that energised the crowd.

Bethell then accelerated rapidly, striking two powerful sixes off Kyle Jamieson before his entertaining knock ended when he miscued a shot that resulted in a sharp catch by T Natarajan. Despite the dismissal, Bengaluru’s dominance remained intact.

Devdutt Padikkal anchored the chase with an attacking display, finding boundaries regularly and keeping the scoring rate high. He guided the side past the fifty-run mark quickly and continued to control the innings with fluent stroke play.

Virat Kohli provided steady support and ultimately sealed the match emphatically by dispatching consecutive deliveries for six, highlighting the ease of the chase.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru completed the run chase in just 6.3 overs, finishing at 77/1 and winning with 81 balls remaining. The emphatic result also boosted their net run rate and reinforced their growing confidence in the tournament.

Delhi Capitals were dismissed for 75 in 16.3 overs, with Abishek Porel scoring 30.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru responded strongly, reaching 77/1 in 6.3 overs. Devdutt Padikkal remained unbeaten on 34 during the chase. Virat Kohli added an unbeaten 23 at the other end. Their efforts secured a dominant victory for RCB.
