IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Bowl Out Delhi Capitals For 75, Set Up Easy Chase

Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced an exceptional bowling effort to bundle out Delhi Capitals for a paltry 75 in Match 39 of IPL 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar spearheaded the attack with accuracy and movement that left the opposition struggling.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar set the tone by knocking over debutant Sahil Parakh with a sharp in-swinging yorker soon after inducing a false shot.

Josh Hazlewood followed up by dismissing KL Rahul with a well-directed short delivery, and then forced Sameer Rizvi into edging behind.

Within just four overs, Delhi Capitals slumped to 9/6, unable to cope with the relentless pace and swing on offer.

Although Tristan Stubbs briefly countered with a boundary, Bhuvneshwar quickly had him caught behind and then removed skipper Axar Patel. Hazlewood added another wicket by dismissing Nitish Rana, deepening Delhi’s troubles. The home side managed only 13/6 in the power play, marking the lowest such total in IPL history.

Abishek Porel stood out amid the collapse, scoring 30 from 33 deliveries. He stitched together a short partnership with David Miller to steady the innings momentarily.

Rasikh Salam Dar, however, ended the stand by inducing a mistimed shot from Miller.

Kyle Jamieson added a few late runs, including a six that carried Delhi past the 50-run mark. Krunal Pandya, however, dismissed him lbw soon after.

Suyash Sharma chipped in by removing Kuldeep Yadav. Hazlewood wrapped up the innings by bowling Porel with a pinpoint yorker.

Hazlewood (4-12) and Bhuvneshwar (3-5) achieved a rare milestone, becoming the first pair in IPL history to take three wickets each in the powerplay of the same match. Their combined spell highlighted Bengaluru’s dominance with the ball.

Delhi Capitals were dismissed for 75 in 16.3 overs, with Abishek Porel contributing the highest score of 30.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru now require a simple chase to secure victory after their bowlers set up the game emphatically.
