Rain Threatens India-West Indies T20I Series Decider In Bengaluru

Rain could spoil the excitement surrounding the fifth and final T20I between India and West Indies at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

The teams enter the series decider level at 2-2 after four high-scoring encounters.

Bengaluru experienced showers on Friday, raising concerns about waterlogging ahead of the match. Forecasts indicate that unsettled conditions could persist through Saturday, potentially affecting the contest.

According to AccuWeather, Bengaluru faces a 90 per cent chance of precipitation on Saturday. The hourly forecast suggests that the likelihood of rain will increase as the afternoon progresses.

The probability of rain stands at 11 per cent at noon and rises to 34 per cent over the following two hours.

Forecasts indicate a 40 per cent chance at 3 PM, increasing sharply to 68 per cent at 4 PM and 71 per cent at 5 PM.

At 6 PM, an hour before the scheduled start, the probability falls to 49 per cent. It then climbs to 64 per cent at 7 PM before remaining at 49 per cent for the next two hours.

The forecast puts the chances at 56 per cent at 10 PM and 49 per cent at 11 PM.

The series has delivered several explosive batting displays. India chased 172 in the opening match in Lucknow, while West Indies successfully pursued 250 in Ranchi.

India subsequently defended 223 to beat the visitors by 14 runs in Indore. However, the hosts failed to chase 248 in Hyderabad, losing the fourth T20I by 24 runs.

Bengaluru’s reputation for producing high-scoring matches, particularly in the IPL, raises the prospect of another batting spectacle if the weather cooperates.

Both sides will hope conditions allow the decider to proceed without significant interruptions.
