The Pakistan cricket team finally gained approval from their Ministry of foreign affairs on Sunday to take part in the 2023 World Cup, which will begin on October 5 in India, after months of uncertainty. Babar Azam and his team of 15 will travel to India for cricket’s premier event despite tense political ties between the two nations; this will be their first trip there since the 2016 World T20. Despite this, the Pakistani government has appealed to the BCCI and ICC to secure the safety of its squad since it still has some reservations about the Indian government’s handling of the nation’s security.
“However, Pakistan has serious worries regarding the safety of its cricket team. We are expressing these worries to the Indian government and the International Cricket Council. According to the announcement, “We anticipate that the Pakistan cricket team’s complete safety and security will be guaranteed throughout its journey to India.
Pakistan’s ‘concerns’ are partially a result of the continuing scheduling conflict related to the World Cup 2023. The BCCI revealed the whole timetable last month, but after three Full Members voiced concerns about it, they changed their minds and said a fresh itinerary is being prepared. As a result, the popular India vs. Pakistan match was moved from its planned date of October 15 to October 14. The BCCI quickly refuted the claim that the game was postponed since October 15 is the first day of Navratri, despite prior reports to the contrary.
The Cricket Association of Bengal reportedly asked the BCCI to change the date for the Pakistan vs. England game as well, according to recent reports. This is in addition to the commotion already caused by the change in the IND-PAK date, which caused a great deal of dissatisfaction among traveling fans who had already made reservations and purchased tickets. The BCCI has been encouraged by CAB to reschedule the game at Eden Gardens from November 12—the date of the Hindu festival Kali Puja—to November 11, even though nothing has been made official yet.
According to ESPNCricinfo, the Kolkata Police warned CAB that organizing security for both Kali Puja and a Pakistan-related World Cup match could be a nightmare.

The PCB doesn’t seem to be happy about how Pakistan is affected by the frequent World Cup schedule changes. Since October 14 was already a double-header day, the first advancement has already started a domino effect. The BCCI will face logistical difficulties as a result of making it a triple-decker, which means that one of the matches—possibly New Zealand vs. Bangladesh or England vs. Afghanistan—will most likely be played on a different day.
