MI Set 160-Run Target For CSK As Naman Dhir Scores 57 In IPL 2026

Mumbai Indians set a target of 160 runs for Chennai Super Kings in Match 44 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Both sides approached the fixture aiming to strengthen their position in the standings.

MI chose to bat after winning the toss but suffered an early setback. Will Jacks departed for just one run, leaving the team at 1 in 1.2 overs.

Naman Dhir then stabilised the innings with Ryan Rickelton, as the pair added 58 runs for the second wicket in 32 deliveries.

Rickelton played an aggressive knock of 37 from 24 balls, striking five sixes before his dismissal.

Dhir continued to anchor the innings and built another crucial partnership with Suryakumar Yadav. They added 40 runs for the third wicket to take MI to 99.

Suryakumar scored 21 off 12 balls before getting out, after which captain Hardik Pandya attempted to guide the innings. He stitched together smaller partnerships to push the total beyond 150, but managed only 18 runs from 23 balls.

Dhir emerged as the standout performer, compiling 57 runs from 37 deliveries, including three sixes and four boundaries.

For CSK, Anshul Kamboj impressed with the ball, taking three wickets for 32 runs.

Noor Ahmad claimed two wickets, while Ramakrishna Ghosh and Jamie Overton contributed with one wicket each.

Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, currently occupy seventh place with three wins from eight matches. Mumbai Indians, under Hardik Pandya’s leadership, sit ninth after six defeats in eight games.
