India (IND) will take England (ENG) in the 29th game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday (October 29) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. India has been the only undefeated team in the tournament and is in second place in the rankings. England have won just one of five games and are in second-last position in the points table.

In their last match, India chose to bowl after winning the toss and playing against New Zealand. In 50 overs, New Zealand was bowled out for 273 runs. After a dismal beginning, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell assisted the team in reaching this score. Mitchell scored 130 runs off 127 deliveries, compared to 75 runs off 87 deliveries for Ravindra. India’s best bowler was Mohammed Shami, who took five wickets for 54 runs in ten overs. India won the match by four wickets after successfully chasing down the 274-run goal in 48 overs. Virat Kohli was removed after scoring 95 runs off 104 deliveries, missing out on a well-earned century.

In their most recent match, England faced Sri Lanka and chose to bat after winning the toss. England gave up against the Lankan bowlers and were never in the game. They managed to score just 156 runs before being bowled out in 33.2 overs. The team’s lone batsman to surpass 30 runs scored was Ben Stokes. With eight wickets remaining, Sri Lanka easily defeated such a small total, winning the match in 25.4 overs.
