Match 1: ENG vs NZ
ENG vs NZ: The ICC World Cup 2023 season opener between England and New Zealand will be played in Ahmedabad. The Narendra Modi Stadium will serve as the venue for the game. While coverage on Star Sports begins at 12.30 pm IST, the game begins at 2 pm IST.
In the absence of Kane Williamson, who will make a comeback at the World Cup, New Zealand will be coached by Tom Latham. Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, and Trent Boult serve as the pace trio during the series.
Regular captain Kane Williamson, who had a right knee injury playing in the IPL earlier this year, will not play in the opening contest. The management is doing everything they can to get him ready for New Zealand’s second game on October 9 and to be fit for the ODI World Cup. The ODI series before the World Cup will feature Trent Boult, who is also back in the team.
