India and the Men from Down Under resumed their rivalry in the shortest format on Thursday, four days after India’s match against Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final. Josh Inglis, a wicketkeeper-batter, showed off his strength in the first Twenty20 international of the five-match series, having just played for Australia in the World Cup-winning team against India. The Australian wicketkeeper-battler, who was batting at number three, produced an incredible stroke to help the visitors reach a difficult score.

Inglis, the premier batsman, and veteran Steve Smith attacked the Indian bowlers in the first game of the series at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. With just 29 balls, Inglis hit his first-ever half-century. The Australian batsman made history in the shortest format of the game by scoring his maiden century in the next eighteen balls.
