Punjab Kings achieved a record-breaking chase of 265 to secure a six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals.

KL Rahul produced a remarkable unbeaten 152 from 67 deliveries, setting a new benchmark as the highest score by an Indian in IPL and men’s T20 cricket. His innings blended technical precision with powerful stroke play, placing him among the select few, alongside Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum, to surpass 150 in the league.

Nitish Rana supported him with a fluent 91 off 44 balls, as the pair constructed a dominant 220-run stand to take DC to 264/2. Despite their efforts, the total proved insufficient.

In pursuit of the daunting target, PBKS adopted an attacking approach from the outset.

Prabhsimran Singh struck a rapid 76 off 26 balls, while Priyansh Arya added 43 off 17, enabling the team to reach 116 in the powerplay.

Although Kuldeep Yadav briefly checked the scoring with key breakthroughs, PBKS maintained their momentum.

Captain Shreyas Iyer anchored the innings with a composed unbeaten 71 from 36 balls. He made the most of dropped chances and ensured the chase stayed on track.

Shashank Singh contributed valuable support, helping the side cross the target with seven balls remaining.

The game also featured a worrying moment when Lungi Ngidi sustained a serious head injury while attempting a catch and had to be taken off the field.

PBKS ultimately sealed a memorable win with an assertive batting display, highlighting the evolving high-scoring nature of T20 cricket.
