IPL 2026: Holder And Siraj Star In Gujarat Titans’ Strong Bowling Effort

Gujarat Titans delivered a composed and effective bowling performance to hold Punjab Kings to 163/9 in their IPL 2026 encounter in Ahmedabad.

Mohammed Siraj made an immediate impact by dismissing Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly in the opening over, putting Punjab under early pressure.

From the other end, Kagiso Rabada maintained tight control and removed Prabhsimran Singh, as the pitch offered enough assistance to trouble the batters.

Punjab found it difficult to recover during the power play and reached only 35/3. Jason Holder then deepened the crisis by dismissing Nehal Wadhera and captain Shreyas Iyer, reducing the side to 47/5 within the first nine overs.

At a critical stage, Suryansh Shedge and Marcus Stoinis attempted to rebuild the innings with an aggressive partnership.

Shedge displayed remarkable composure, reaching his half-century in just 24 deliveries and taking the attack to the bowlers. He shifted momentum briefly with a 27-run over against Manav Suthar, while Stoinis provided steady support. Together, they added 79 runs for the sixth wicket, giving Punjab a chance to push towards a competitive total.

As Punjab looked set to cross 170, Gujarat responded effectively. Rabada returned to dismiss Shedge for 57, halting the recovery. Holder followed up by removing Stoinis for 40 and claiming another wicket in the same over to finish with figures of 4/24.

The lower order could not build on the recovery despite a quick contribution from Marco Jansen, who scored 20 off 11 balls. Rashid Khan also contributed with a wicket, while Arshad Khan kept things tight to prevent any late surge.

Punjab Kings 163/9 in 20 overs (Suryansh Shedge 57, Marcus Stoinis 40; Jason Holder 4/24, Kagiso Rabada 2/22, Mohammed Siraj 2/28) against Gujarat Titans.
