Indian Cricket Team To Meet PM Modi At 11 AM, Rajeev Shukla Confirms Full Schedule

The Indian men’s cricket team, fresh from their triumphant T20 World Cup victory in Barbados, is set to arrive in New Delhi early on Thursday, July 4. India secured their second T20 World Cup title, and their first in 17 years, by defeating South Africa in the final at Kensington Oval last week. The team and support staff faced delays in Barbados due to a hurricane storm but will finally return home on Thursday on a special flight arranged by the BCCI.

Indian cricket team back to India- Full schedule

The special Air India charter flight, designated AIC24WC — Air India Champions 24 World Cup — departed at 4:50 am local time on Wednesday, carrying the Indian team and staff. The flight is scheduled to land in New Delhi at approximately 6:20 am IST on Thursday. Originally planned to depart at 6 pm local time on July 2 and arrive at 7:45 pm IST, the flight was delayed due to the late arrival of the Air India aircraft in Barbados.

Upon their arrival in India, the team will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 9:30 am. This felicitation ceremony is expected to last a couple of hours. Following this, the contingent will travel to Mumbai on another chartered flight.

Once in Mumbai, the team will head to the Wankhede Stadium, where an open bus parade is scheduled to start at 5 pm IST on Thursday. A presentation ceremony will be held at the stadium, during which India captain Rohit Sharma will hand over the trophy to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. The trophy will be kept at the BCCI headquarters for the next two years.
