India will go to Sri Lanka for a six-match white-ball series in 2024

The Indian team will make its yearly ritual tour of the islands in the middle of 2024 for a brief six-match white-ball series, giving Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and its host broadcaster cause for celebration, the board announced on Wednesday.

The international body has also moved the U-19 World Cup to South Africa and blacklisted SLC for government meddling. Nonetheless, the national teams—both male and female—will be permitted to complete their bilateral obligations.

India is scheduled to travel for three ODIs and T20Is each in July and August, which is essentially the country’s cricket season, according to the 2024 calendar that SLC issued.

52 international matches, comprising 10 Tests, 21 ODIs, and 21 T20Is, are scheduled for the men’s national team in 2024. The extra games they will play at the T20 World Cup are not taken into account by the T20Is.

The three-match away series in England, which is a part of the ongoing World Test Championship, will be one of the main assignments. The two-Test series in November against South Africa will be the other difficult task.
