New Zealand Cricket has officially released its international programme for the 2026-27 season, with India’s visit expected to attract significant attention. The tour will span from late October to early December and feature five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Test matches.
With 12 fixtures scheduled across multiple venues, the series will represent the most extensive overseas tour ever staged by New Zealand Cricket.
India is set to return to New Zealand for their first Test series in the country since 2019. The tour will also mark their first limited-overs assignment on New Zealand soil in four years.
According to NZC, the series will coincide with celebrations recognising 100 years of sporting relations between the two nations.
The New Zealand Government will support the occasion alongside other sporting events involving India.
The opening T20I will take place at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on 22 October, while Wellington’s Basin Reserve will host the first Test later in November. Christchurch will also stage the second and final Test of the series.
Once the India series concludes, New Zealand will turn its attention to Sri Lanka, who will arrive for a multi-format tour featuring eight matches.
The bilateral contest will include ODI, T20I, and Test cricket before the BlackCaps travel to Australia.
On the women’s side, Bangladesh will tour New Zealand in December for a six-match white-ball series. The fixtures will provide the White Ferns with valuable home action during the season.
Eight cities across New Zealand will host international matches, providing supporters throughout the country with a packed schedule of cricket.
The season could feature as many as 41 days of international cricket. The schedule underlines the scale of New Zealand’s upcoming home campaign.
New Zealand has major series against India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh on its schedule. As a result, the team is preparing for one of its most demanding cricket seasons in recent memory. It is also likely to be among the country’s highest-profile campaigns in recent years.
