India Target Stronger Bowling Display In ODI Series Finale Against West Indies

India will look to round off their ODI series against the West Indies with an improved bowling performance when the sides meet in the third and final match at New Chandigarh on Saturday.

Shubman Gill’s side have already sealed the series by taking an unbeatable 2-0 advantage.

The opening two encounters produced a combined 811 runs as batting-friendly conditions dominated proceedings.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir has called for pitches that create a more balanced contest between batters and bowlers.

India’s pace attack struggled during the powerplay, claiming just one wicket in the first 10 overs across the two matches while giving away 177 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja will also be expected to contribute more effectively with the ball.

The veteran all-rounder has claimed only three wickets in his previous eight ODI appearances, leaving Kuldeep Yadav without consistent support during the middle overs.

Gill Continues to Lead Batting Unit

Shubman Gill has been central to India’s dominant batting displays. The captain smashed an unbeaten 223 in Guwahati as India successfully chased 406, after also producing a century in the series opener.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have added further strength to the top order.

India will be without Prasidh Krishna after the pacer sustained a left hamstring injury during the second ODI. Anshul Kamboj has consequently joined the squad as his replacement.

Mohammed Siraj could feature after missing both previous matches, while Jasprit Bumrah’s absence gives India another chance to examine their back-up bowling resources.

West Indies openers John Campbell and Shai Hope have given their team solid starts despite the series defeat.

With Justin Greaves still facing a calf injury concern, the visitors will depend on Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase and Keemo Paul to provide the finishing impetus.
