India Make Two Squad Changes Ahead Of West Indies ODI And T20I Series

India have added fast bowler Anshul Kamboj to their squad for Saturday’s third and final ODI against West Indies in New Chandigarh after Prasidh Krishna suffered a left hamstring injury.

Prasidh picked up the injury during India’s eight-wicket win in the second ODI at Guwahati and will not feature in the series decider.

The BCCI said the Men’s Selection Committee had chosen Kamboj to take Prasidh’s place in the squad.

Kamboj left the India ‘A’ fixture against Australia ‘A’ in Puducherry and will link up with the senior team in Chandigarh.

The pacer had figures of 3-34 from 17.3 overs in the first innings before delivering only two overs in the second innings and leaving the match. Praful Hinge subsequently took his place in the India ‘A’ playing eleven.

Kamboj has not yet played an ODI for India, although he made his Test debut in the Manchester Test against England last year.

Sundar Returns to Domestic Cricket

India have also released off-spinning all-rounder Washington Sundar from the T20I squad for the five-match West Indies series.

Washington will represent Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy as India prepare for their upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

The domestic season starts on October 11, allowing Washington to gain red-ball match practice ahead of the Test assignment.

Naman Dhir will replace Washington in the T20I squad after making his ODI debut against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram.

The ODI squad features Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Naman Dhir and Anshul Kamboj.

The T20I squad comprises Shreyas Iyer (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav and Naman Dhir.
