India Crush Zimbabwe By 90 Runs As Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma Seal T20I Series Victory

India produced a clinical all-round display to defeat Zimbabwe by 90 runs in the second T20 International at Harare Sports Club on Saturday, securing the three-match series with one game to spare.

Asked to bat first, India overcame two early dismissals through a superb partnership between Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.

Kishan dominated the Zimbabwe attack with a blistering 81 from 44 deliveries, while Tilak finished unbeaten on 60 off 29 balls to power India to 219/5.

Captain Shreyas Iyer added a composed 25 before falling after a useful stand with Kishan, while Shivam Dube struck a boundary late in the innings to take India’s total beyond the 200-run mark.

Zimbabwe failed to build any substantial partnerships during the chase despite an aggressive start from Brian Bennett, who top-scored with 32.

The Indian bowlers maintained tight lines and regularly picked up wickets to keep the hosts under pressure.

Prince Yadav struck twice in his opening spell before leaving the field because of a hamstring injury.

Despite his early exit, India’s bowling unit continued to dominate and never allowed Zimbabwe to recover.

Abhishek Sharma delivered the best bowling figures of the match, claiming 3 for 17 to dismantle Zimbabwe’s middle and lower order.

Ravi Bishnoi, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dube and Tilak Varma also contributed with important wickets as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 129 in 17.5 overs.

The emphatic victory handed Shreyas Iyer his first T20I series triumph as India’s captain and gave the visitors an unbeatable 2-0 lead.

India will now look to complete a 3-0 clean sweep when they face Zimbabwe in the final match of the series.
