IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2023 Super Four: Will Colombo’s Rain Cause Another Washout Of The India-Pakistan Match On Reserve day?

Almost every match in Sri Lanka for the current Asia Cup has been impacted by rain, which has played a major role in the tournament. However, India and Pakistan appear to be the most impacted since Sunday’s Super 4 match between the bitter rivals was postponed until Monday due to heavy rains in Colombo.

Will IND vs. PAK take place?

The previous meeting between the two, which took place during the group stages, had failed owing to a related issue. The second inning was a total washout, leaving only one to be played.

On Sunday, rain was expected to hamper the proceedings, but surprise, the match began under sunny skies, raising hopes for a full 50-over fight.

However, a heavy downpour that began right in the middle of India’s innings—who had been given the opportunity to bat by Pakistan—caused play to be abandoned.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will pick up where they left off on Monday, at 147/2 in 24.1 overs, to carry on with the game. The game will continue to be a 50-over-a-side battle.

But before we get too enthusiastic, it’s expected that rain will once again dominate the India vs. Pakistan match on the reserve day.

The weather doesn’t look good, and another washout between the two sides is most likely due to the rain. Around 5 o’clock in Colombo, there is a possibility of 80% rainfall, according to AccuWeather. On the other hand, the action picks back up at 3:00 PM local time.

According to Weather.com’s hourly weather forecast, the likelihood of rain never falls below 70% after 3 p.m. According to the research, the biggest chance of pelting occurs around 5:30 in the evening.

Where are India and Pakistan right now?

If Pakistan, who has already triumphed in a Super 4 match, must split the spoils once more, it will be a big blow to India. Pakistan is in first place with a net run rate of +1.051 after defeating Bangladesh in the Super 4 stage.
