In a thrilling IPL 2025 final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured their maiden title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs.
RCB Innings: Batting first, RCB posted a total of 190/9 in 20 overs. Captain Virat Kohli anchored the innings with 43 runs, while Jitesh Sharma contributed 24 and Liam Livingstone added 25. The innings, however, faltered towards the end, losing 4 wickets for just 19 runs in the final overs. Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh were the standout bowlers for PBKS, with Jamieson taking 3 wickets for 48 runs and Arshdeep claiming 3 wickets in the final over.
PBKS Innings: Chasing 191, PBKS managed to score 184/7 in their 20 overs. Shashank Singh played a valiant knock of 61* off 30 balls, but the team fell short. RCB’s bowlers, especially Krunal Pandya, who was named Player of the Match, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, held their nerve to secure the narrow win.

Krunal Pandya (RCB): Awarded Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance, becoming the first player to win two Player of the Match awards in IPL finals after 2017.
The victory, however, ended an 18-year wait for RCB, with emotional celebrations from Virat Kohli and the team, marking a historic moment in IPL history.
