India Announce Squad For Zimbabwe T20Is; Harsh Dubey, Prabhsimran Among Six New Faces

Left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey, wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh, and seamers Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma have received their maiden India call-ups for the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Rinku Singh and Mayank Yadav have also returned to the T20I setup, with Shreyas Iyer continuing as captain.

The newly selected six players replace Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Ravi Bishnoi, and Sanju Samson.

Harsh Dubey made his ODI debut against Afghanistan in Dharamshala in June, claiming 3-47. He was also part of India A’s 1-0 red-ball series win in Sri Lanka, where he took four wickets and scored 30 and 29.

Yash Thakur, Dubey’s Vidarbha teammate, claimed five wickets in India A’s victorious 50-over tri-series campaign in Sri Lanka and picked up another five wickets in the subsequent red-ball series.

Ashok Sharma featured in one tri-series match as a replacement for the injured Yudhvir Singh Charak, returning figures of 1-75.

He had earlier taken six wickets for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 and emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the 2025/26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 22 wickets in 10 matches.

Prabhsimran Singh earned his maiden call-up after scoring 2, 84, and 11 for India A in the 50-over tri-series in Sri Lanka, following a 510-run season in 14 matches for Punjab Kings in IPL 2026.

India and Zimbabwe will begin their T20I series on 23 July, while they will play the remaining T20Is on 25 and 26 July at Harare Sports Club.

India squad: Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma (Vice-Captain), Ishan Kishan (WK), Shivam Dube, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Varun Chakaravarathy, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav, and Prabhsimran Singh (WK).
