CWG 2026: Harsh Singh Wins Gold In Men’s 60kg Judo

India’s Harsh Singh delivered a commanding display to capture the gold medal in the men’s 60kg judo event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. He outclassed Australia’s Joshua Katz with a convincing 10-0 victory in Saturday’s final.

Harsh controlled the contest from the opening exchange. He attacked with precision, defended confidently and denied Katz every scoring opportunity.

The Indian judoka established an early advantage and maintained complete control until the final whistle, sealing a flawless victory.

The emphatic win highlighted Harsh’s consistency and dominance throughout the tournament. His speed, tactical discipline and technical accuracy proved too strong for the Australian opponent, who failed to register a single point in the championship bout.

As the contest ended, Harsh celebrated by raising his arms while the Indian contingent applauded another memorable success for the country in Glasgow.

The victory further strengthened India’s reputation in international judo and reflected the sport’s steady rise on the global stage.

The gold medal also boosted India’s overall Commonwealth Games 2026 tally to 19 medals, comprising five gold, ten silver and four bronze.

Born on 24 May 2003, Harsh Singh has emerged as one of India’s leading judokas through consistent performances on the domestic circuit. He has represented India in prestigious international competitions, including the IJF World Tour, Tokyo Grand Slam, Asian Championships and Grand Prix events.

Harsh also became the second Indian judoka to claim gold at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

Earlier, Asmita Dey won the women’s 48kg title after defeating Canada’s Heidi Quach 2-1 in a closely fought final, underlining India’s growing strength in judo.
