A heart-touching video showed the moment the final racer in the London Marathon crossed the finish line, amid cheers and claps.
The runner named Tom Durnin, finished the 26.2-mile (42 km) run in 8 hours, 10 minutes, and 58 seconds.
TCS London Marathon tweeted, “One of the greatest moments of every London Marathon – your 2023 final finisher 🙌. We’re in awe of your determination to finish what you started. #LondonMarathon #WeRunTogether”, through its official Twitter handle.
The exhausted runner can be seen walking across the finish line in the video, receiving a rousing cheer from the spectators who stuck around for the entire competition. Off-camera, one can overhear someone’s remark, “Well done, Mate! You did it”.
Mr. Durnin was spotted posing for photos.
Netizens complimented his arduous work and were relieved to see him complete the marathon.
One user commented, “An absolute hero! What strength of character, grit and determination! Phenomenal”.
The second user commented, ”Well done to this guy. He wasn’t last, he beat everyone who has never managed to run a marathon- including me. Hats off to him!”

”Love that there’s still a crowd there to cheer him home. Congratulations Sir. Truly inspirational. We can’t all be Mo Farrah but everyone can take part and do their best”, the fourth user commented.
