The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2026 kicked off on January 16, launching a nationwide cinema-cricket spectacle. The Bhojpuri Dabanggs crushed the Telugu Warriors by 41 runs in Visakhapatnam. The win secured their place in the next stage of the tournament.
The Telugu Warriors won the toss and opted to field first. The Bhojpuri Dabanggs responded with disciplined batting and set a competitive target of 155 runs.
The team displayed balance, resilience, and intent throughout the innings.
Asgar Khan led the batting charge with a solid 58 runs, while Aditya Ojha contributed a valuable 23 runs.
Praveshlal Yadav played a crucial supporting role and stabilised the innings when required. Behind the stumps, Anshuman Singh impressed everyone with sharp and energetic wicketkeeping.
While chasing the target, the Telugu Warriors collapsed under pressure.
Manoj Tiwari, captain of the Bhojpuri Dabanggs, delivered a match-winning bowling spell. He picked up three wickets for just 16 runs in four overs, dismantling the opposition’s batting order.
The Telugu team folded for 114 runs.
Manoj Tiwari won the Best Bowler award and received the Man of the Match title for his outstanding leadership.
Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ received the Entertainer of the Match award for energising the crowd with his on-field presence.
The Bhojpuri Dabanggs will play their next match in Coimbatore on January 24, 2026. Fans across the country can watch all matches live on Jio Hotstar.
CCL 2026 is the league’s 13th season and will run until February 1, 2026.
The tournament, however, features eight teams representing Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Bengali, and Bhojpuri film industries.
Only film superstars from respective language industries participate in the league.
From 2026, Saanvika Films owns the Bhojpuri Dabanggs. The league, however, promotes national integration, fitness, cultural unity, and social responsibility under its core vision of ‘Play India, Prosper India’.
