Bengal Tigers Dominate CCL 2026 As Boney Kapoor Celebrates Semifinal Qualification

The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2026 has gathered momentum, with the Bengal Tigers emerging as one of the standout teams of the season.

Following an impressive run in the Coimbatore leg, the team has secured a place in the semi-finals after registering three consecutive victories. This achievement has delighted film producer and team owner Boney Kapoor.

The Bengal Tigers have enjoyed a flawless campaign so far, underlining their intent to challenge for the title.

The team began its journey by defeating Mumbai Heroes, led by Riteish Deshmukh, by four wickets. This was followed by a tense encounter against Veer Marathi Lions Chennai Kings, which ended in a tie before the Tigers clinched victory in a dramatic Super Over.

In their third outing in Coimbatore, the Tigers overcame Kerala Strikers by 13 runs. This victory completed a hat-trick of wins and confirmed their entry into the semi-finals.

Reacting to the team’s performance, Boney Kapoor issued a statement from Coimbatore expressing pride in the players’ consistency and determination.

He highlighted the Tigers’ championship pedigree by recalling their 2024 title-winning campaign. He also praised the squad for carrying forward the same winning spirit in the current season.

Kapoor has been present in the stands throughout the tournament, personally encouraging the players and engaging with supporters.

Hyderabad Set to Host Semifinal Showdown

With the Coimbatore leg concluded, the tournament now shifts to Hyderabad for the knockout stage.

The Bengal Tigers, currently placed second on the points table, will face Kerala Strikers once again in the second semi-final on January 31, 2026. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM.

The first semi-final, between Karnataka Bulldozers and Veer Marathi Lions Chennai Kings, will be played earlier in the day at 2:00 PM. A victory for the Tigers would see them advance to the final on February 1, 2026.

The Bengal Tigers previously lifted the CCL trophy in 2024 by defeating Karnataka Bulldozers in the final. With Punjab De Sher claiming the title in 2025, the Tigers are now aiming to reclaim the crown.

Backed by strong form, committed leadership and vocal support from their owners, the team appears well-positioned to make another title run.
