Kapil Dev was born on 6 January 1959 in Chandigarh. The Haryana player made his international Test debut against arch-rivals Pakistan on 1 October 1978 and soon after that he became a big name in the cricket world.

Kapil Dev registered his name in the pages of history by winning the World Cup trophy in 1983. Kapil Dev surprised the world with his fast bowling and batting skills. At that time he was considered one of the top all-rounders in the world. The illustrious career of the former Indian captain has seen ups and downs both on and off the field.

Kapil Dev played 131 Tests, 225 ODIs in his career. In this, Kapil Dev took 434 and 253 wickets. Not only this, Kapil Dev also scored 5248 runs in Tests and 3783 runs in ODIs with a strike rate of 95.07. Kapil Dev has also been the head coach of the Indian cricket team. Recently a film was made on the life of Kapil Dev, whose name was 83.
