Bayern Munich Sign Harry Kane In Transfer From Tottenham

Harry Kane, an English striker currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur, has officially signed for Bayern Munich on a four-year deal, the two teams confirmed.

Harry Kane signs with Bayern Munich

The 30-year-old striker has signed until 2027, according to Bayern, who will begin their season against RB Leipzig later on Saturday in the Super Cup. The agreement followed lengthy negotiations between the two teams.

Following weeks of negotiations, Spurs claimed on Thursday that they had accepted an offer for the 30-year-old player for more than €100 million ($110 million). Later, on Friday, Kane received a clean bill of health.
Kane had just one year left on his contract at Tottenham, and he was anxious to have it settled before the start of the Premier League season this weekend.

Kane expresses his happiness

The England captain expressed his happiness at joining FC Bayern on the club’s official website. “Bayern Munich is among the largest clubs in the world, and I’ve always said that during my career, I want to compete and demonstrate my abilities at the highest level. The winning mindset of this club makes being here feel extremely fantastic.

Bundesliga champions Bayern had threatened to end talks after giving Spurs chairman Daniel Levy until midnight on Friday to respond to their most recent offer.
Levy held off on rejecting that offer until Monday, but Bayern came back with one last offer that is believed to have been reworked with modified add-ons and a bigger percentage of the cash guaranteed upfront.

The Spurs have let go of Kane

Since Kane has shown no interest in signing a contract extension to keep earning £200,000 per week, the Spurs have now accepted that offer.

Although Kane has not yet won a major championship, he will join Bayern Munich, a team that has won six Champions League crowns and 11 straight Bundesliga championships.

After surpassing Jimmy Greaves the previous season, he leaves Tottenham as the club’s all-time leading scorer. With 213 goals, Kane is second only to Alan Shearer in the Premier League’s all-time goal-scoring list, who has 260.

He will fill the gap left at Bayern by striker Robert Lewandowski’s summer move to Barcelona. Bayern narrowly won the league championship last season despite scoring fewer goals than usual because Borussia Dortmund surprisingly lost their final home game.
