A Decade-Long Wait Ends

Pakistan’s arrival in India for the ODI World Cup marks the end of a nearly decade-long absence since their last visit in 2012-13 for a bilateral series. The team has undergone significant changes since then, with many players set to experience Indian conditions for the first time, presenting a unique challenge.

Warm Welcome and Delightful Mood

Babar Azam expressed his joy on social media, describing the warm welcome they received in Hyderabad. The players, including Babar and Shaheen Shah Afridi, were visibly delighted and in high spirits as they posed for cameras.

Babar Azam’s Optimistic Outlook

Babar addressed concerns about playing in India during a press conference, emphasizing that the team is proud to participate in the World Cup. Despite the lack of experience in Indian conditions, he expressed confidence, noting that the conditions are similar to those in other Asian countries. Babar also expressed his honor at captaining the team and his hope of returning with the trophy.

Missing the Home Crowd

Pakistan acknowledges the absence of their fans due to visa issues, but Babar expects to feel their support through social media. He anticipates playing in packed stadiums, expressing excitement about the love and passion for cricket in India.

Upcoming Warm-up Match and World Cup Kick-off

Pakistan’s warm-up match against New Zealand is scheduled behind closed doors in Hyderabad on September 29. Their World Cup campaign begins on October 6 against the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The Pakistan cricket team’s arrival in Hyderabad, their optimism despite challenges, and their eagerness to perform well in the ODI World Cup.
