The cricketing world stood in awe on Monday night as 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history by scoring the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history, lighting up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and the internet in equal measure.

Suryavanshi delivered a jaw-dropping innings of 101 runs off just 38 balls, with a staggering 94 runs coming through boundaries.

His brutal knock included 11 towering sixes and 7 fours, propelling the Rajasthan Royals to a commanding eight-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans.

He shared a 166-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, anchoring the chase with fearless flair.

The unprecedented achievement drew widespread praise from the cricketing community.

Former record-holder Yusuf Pathan took to social media, writing, “Many congratulations to young #VaibhavSuryavanshi for breaking my record of the fastest @IPL hundred by an Indian! Even more special to see it happen while playing for @rajasthanroyals, just like I did. There’s truly something magical about this franchise for youngsters. Long way to go, champ!”

Youngest Ever IPL Centurion At 14

Suryavanshi didn’t just break speed records; he also became the youngest player to score a century in IPL history, achieving the feat at just 14 years and 32 days old.

He shattered the previous age records held by Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, and Devdutt Padikkal.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh marvelled at the teenager’s poise and power: “What were you doing at 14?!! This kid is taking on the best bowlers in the world without blinking an eyelid! Vaibhav Suryavanshi — remember the name!”

Veteran commentator Ian Bishop added: “14-yr-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has bludgeoned an IPL century in 2025 off 35 deliveries. Remarkable.”

Even cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar shared a technical analysis of Suryavanshi’s explosive innings, praising the youngster’s natural game: “Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings. End result: 101 runs off 38 balls.”

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami echoed the admiration: “Vaibhav Suryavanshi, what an incredible talent… Scoring a century at just 14 is unreal. Keep shining brother.”
