PM Modi Attributes India’s Sporting Success to Decade-Long Reforms and Government Support

Prime Minister Modi says, “Many people wonder what happened suddenly that after 2014 the performance of our athletes became so much better. India created history in the Asian Games and Para Games. India created a new record of medals in the University Games also. This has not happened suddenly. Earlier there was no dearth of hard work and passion among the players of the country, but in the last 10 years, they have gained new confidence. The government supported them at every step. The government made reforms in the last 10 years and the players performed. The entire system of sports was changed.”
