Throne of Thorns for Tharoor: The stalwart seems under pressure to withdraw

Who will wear the throne of Congress King? Though the answer is crystal clear, however the formalities are in place for suggesting the existence of democracy in Congress.

October 17, 2022 would be the day when after two decades a non-dynasty person will be elected to rule the historical party. The Congress’ game of thrones does not seem too suitable to Tharoor. As per the sources from team Tharoor their captain is under Pressure to Withdraw.

Even there is buzz around the media that some of those leaders who silently support or actively campaign for Shashi Tharoor  for the coming up party election have received calls warning them to stay away from canvassing for Tharoor. The callers are also suggesting them to remain neutral.

A set of guidelines has been lately issued by present Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi. These guidelines are supposedly  mandatory  for the party-men to follow it for the conduct of its presidential polls.

As per the tricky guidelines, one clause allows “Both Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor’’ to contest the election in their personal capacity. On the other hand the other clause clearly says –  “The party-men who are willing to campaign for any of the two candidates are free to do so but they can only do so after they resign from a post they are holding.”
