A petition challenging the 2024 Lok Sabha election of Varanasi MP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been filed in the Allahabad High Court. Janhit Kisan Party leader Vijay Nandan filed the petition, alleging that his nomination was unfairly cancelled by the Election Officer.
Vijay Nandan claims his nomination was rejected due to a clerical error in his affidavit. He argues that the District Election Officer wrongly dismissed his papers, saying the affidavit column was left blank. The petitioner insists that this mistake could have been corrected during scrutiny.
Nandan asserts that his candidacy was improperly dismissed and seeks cancellation of the election results. He claims the rejection was not based on any concealment of facts.
