Chris Olsen’s delightfully awkward mid-flight incident with Kate Winslet has gone viral. The content creator recalled a brief recounter with an Oscar-winning actress on a recent journey from Cannes to London.
Celine Dion has canceled her concert tours for 2023 and 2024 after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, a neurological disease. Olsen played Ms. Dion’s iconic anthem from Titanic, “My Heart Will Go On”, out loud because it was in the news, not aware Kate Winslet was seated next to him.
Instead of his designated seat in the third row, Olsen sat in the second row. He sat beside a woman in the window seat.
Olsen explained, “What I don’t realize is that my AirPods are not yet connected so Celine starts playing out loud”.
“I’m just kind of skipping through her top hits at this moment like It’s All Coming Back to Me Now plays for a second, I Surrender plays for a second, My Heart Will Go On plays for a little bit and this is all happening out loud but I don’t realize it”, Chris added.
Soon after, a flight attendant soon approached Mr. Olsen and inquired about his seat number. He immediately noticed that he was in the wrong row. He apologized to the woman in the window seat, and thought to himself, “She looks familiar”.
Olsen was trying to recall if he had previously met her. He noticed a script in her backpack. He swiftly snapped a photo of her side profile and reviewed it. He quickly recognized he was sitting next to the Oscar winner Kate Winslet.
Mr. Olsen captioned the video, “KATE IF YOU SEE THIS I’M SORRY I DIDN’T KNOW”.
