Honey And Milk For Skin: Have You Tried These 6 Face Packs?

Honey and milk are popular household ingredients used in skincare routines.

Honey acts as a humectant, helping attract and retain moisture, while milk contains lactic acid, which may offer mild exfoliating benefits. Combined with other ingredients, they can be used to prepare simple homemade face packs for different skincare needs.

Natural ingredients can still cause irritation, and these mixtures are not substitutes for proven skincare treatments. Always perform a patch test before use and avoid applying them to broken or irritated skin.

DIY Face Packs

Here are six honey and milk face packs you can prepare at home.

1. Honey and Milk Face Pack

Mix one teaspoon each of honey and milk to make a smooth mixture. Apply it to clean skin, leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. This simple combination may help soften and moisturise dry skin.

2. Honey, Milk and Oats Face Pack

Combine one teaspoon each of honey, milk and finely ground oats. Apply the paste gently, leave it on for around 10 minutes and rinse. Oats may help soothe dry skin. Avoid vigorous scrubbing, as friction can cause irritation.

3. Honey, Milk and Turmeric Face Pack

Mix one teaspoon each of honey and milk with a small pinch of turmeric. Apply a thin layer and leave it on for five to 10 minutes before rinsing. Turmeric may stain the skin or cause irritation, so use only a small amount and patch-test first.

4. Honey, Milk and Yoghurt Face Pack

Blend one teaspoon of honey with one teaspoon each of milk and plain yoghurt. Apply the mixture for about 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Yoghurt contains lactic acid, although its effects in homemade face packs may vary. Avoid this combination if your skin is sensitive.

5. Honey, Milk and Aloe Vera Face Pack

Mix one teaspoon each of honey, milk and pure aloe vera gel. Apply the mixture to clean skin, leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse. Aloe vera may help soothe the skin, although individual reactions can vary.

6. Honey, Milk and Besan Face Pack

Combine one teaspoon each of honey, milk and besan (gram flour). Apply a thin layer and leave it on for five to 10 minutes. Rinse gently without rubbing to minimise the risk of irritation.

Use these face packs occasionally rather than daily, and discontinue use if you experience redness, itching or discomfort.

For everyday skin protection, follow a gentle skincare routine and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen.
