Rouse Avenue Court On Friday Extended Judicial Custody Of Eight Accused In MCOCA Case

The Rouse Avenue Court on Friday extended judicial custody of eight accused in the MCOCA case involving AAP leader Naresh Balyan.

Special Judge Dr Vishal Gogane also remanded Amardeep alias Amar Lochab to seven-day police custody following the Delhi Police’s application.

The court instructed Delhi Police to furnish additional documents, granting them three days to submit the required evidence before the authorities.

During the proceedings, investigators emphasised that Amar Lochab’s interrogation was essential, after which the judge granted police custody to facilitate detailed questioning.

Police had earlier told the court that the final stage of preparing a supplementary charge sheet was underway.

In July, the court had already taken cognisance of the Delhi Police’s third supplementary charge sheet in the matter.

That supplementary charge sheet accused Vikas Gehlot’s wife, Vineeta, of transporting hidden weapons to relatives on her husband’s instructions.

Police subsequently recovered the weapons from the house of Vikas Gehlot’s relative, strengthening allegations of planned gang-related activities.

Naresh Balyan, arrested December 4, 2024, remains in custody alongside other accused charged under strict provisions of MCOCA.

The first charge sheet in this sensitive case was filed earlier by the Delhi Police on January 4.

Among the key accused are Jyoti, Kapil Sangwan, Rohit Alias Anna, Hritik alias Peter and Sachin Chikara, facing organised crime allegations.

Delhi Police alleged Jyoti conspired to murder rival gangster Manjeet alias Mahal, reflecting the gang’s continuing violent intergroup rivalries.

A nearly 300-page charge sheet against Hrithik Peter under Section 3 of MCOCA highlighted dangerous organised criminal activities.

Investigators revealed conversations between Naresh Balyan and gangster Kapil Sangwan in 2023, proving their dangerous criminal alliance extended internationally.

Kapil Sangwan, originally from Najafgarh, has been residing in the United Kingdom for five years, evading Indian enforcement authorities.

Kapil Sangwan masterminded Nafe Singh’s murder in Haryana and the killings of Ballu Pehelwan and BJP leader Surendra Matiala.
