Justice K Vinod Chandran Sworn In As Supreme Court Judge

On Thursday, Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna administered the oath of office to Justice K Vinod Chandran as a Supreme Court judge.

Earlier on Monday, the Centre approved Justice Chandran’s appointment to the Supreme Court, following the recommendation of the Collegium.

Taking to X, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal posted, “In exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Krishnan Vinod Chandran, Chief Justice, Patna High Court as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.”

During his long tenure as a Judge and Chief Justice of the High Court, Mr Justice Chandran has acquired significant experience in diverse fields of law,” the SC Collegium asserted.

The apex court Collegium reviewed and discussed the names of Chief Justices and senior High Court judges eligible for Supreme Court appointments during its meeting.
