CJI Surya Kant Inaugurates Tower Of Justice Judicial Complex In Gurugram

Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant on Sunday inaugurated the Tower of Justice Judicial Complex in Gurugram, saying the development of state-of-the-art judicial infrastructure reflects the Haryana government’s commitment to strengthening the justice delivery system.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Rao Inderjit Singh, along with judges of the Supreme Court and the Punjab and Haryana High Court, attended the inauguration.

Justice Kant also virtually laid the foundation stone for the Tawadu and Punhana Judicial Complexes in Nuh district.

Recalling that he had laid the foundation stone for the project as a Punjab and Haryana High Court judge in 2017, Justice Kant said Gurugram’s transformation into a major hub for industry, innovation and investment has increased the demand for a stronger judicial system.

Justice Kant said Gurugram courts are currently handling more than 24,000 civil disputes, nearly 1,000 commercial disputes and over one lakh cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act. He said the new complex would help improve access to justice, increase judicial capacity and speed up the disposal of pending cases while upholding constitutional values.

The Tower of Justice is equipped with modern facilities, including video conferencing and an organised judicial record room. The project also includes a proposed International Arbitration Centre to function under the supervision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the judicial complex symbolises the dignity of the Constitution, the prestige of the judiciary and citizens’ faith in the justice delivery system, adding that a modern and transparent judicial system is essential for building a Viksit Bharat.
