The Allahabad High Court has allowed the anticipatory bail application filed by Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati in connection with a case registered in Prayagraj. The order provides him protection from arrest as the matter proceeds further.
Earlier, on February 27, a bench led by Justice Jitendra Kumar Sinha had reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail plea. During that hearing, the court directed that the seer and his disciple should not be taken into custody until the application was finally decided.
The matter came up before the bench after arguments were presented regarding the anticipatory bail request. The court had taken time to examine the submissions before pronouncing its decision.
With the anticipatory bail now granted, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has secured legal protection against immediate arrest in the case. The order ensures that due legal process is followed while the investigation continues.
The case pertains to allegations registered under provisions of the POCSO Act in Prayagraj. Further details regarding the case are expected to emerge as legal proceedings move forward.
