Kohli vs Gambhir: Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, two legendary figures in Indian cricket, got into a heated argument on the day Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 18 runs. One might recall that these two have a past filled with defying one another.
Gambhir and Kohli got into a fight more than ten years ago when RCB was playing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru. Kohli no longer leads the RCB, with the exception of a few special occasions. Gambhir, who is now retired, is the global mentor at LSG. However, the aggressive behavior of the players hasn’t gone away yet.
Naveen-ul-Haq, an LSG bowler, and Kohli had a conversation, which resulted in Gambhir excluding Kyle Mayers, the opening batter for his team, from speaking with Kohli. Gambhir then aggressively approached Kohli while restraining him with his players, including the injured captain KL Rahul. However, despite Kohli’s hand on Gambhir’s shoulder giving the impression of trying to calm him down, the conversation quickly turned hostile.
During the 17th over of the chase, when the game was almost over, Kohli and Naveen engaged in a heated argument. At that point, Mishra and an umpire had to step in.
Kohli had been extra vivified all through the handling innings, as RCB effectively shielded 126 in an away match that had more group support for the guests than the hosts. He even shushed the group in the wake of taking a catch to excuse Krunal Pandya. After snatching a last-ball victory in their previous meeting in Bengaluru, Gambhir booed the home crowd.
Both Gambhir and Kohli have been fined 100 percent of their match charges for abusing the IPL set of principles. According to ANI, the incident was a Level 2 violation of Article 2.21 of the Code, and both parties acknowledged their wrongdoing.
In addition, Naveen-ul-Haq received a fine equal to fifty percent of the match fees he had paid for the IPL. The LSG right-arm fast bowler became involved in a contentious incident with Kohli during the customary handshake following the match.
In any case, Twitter users didn’t take it well. Some of them were seen faulting Gautam Gambhir for his superfluous hostility, while some thought Virat Kohli’s demeanor all through the match was a bit over the top.
