‘Youth Will Shape India’s Future’: PM Modi At IIT Delhi Convocation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said young people would play a decisive role in India’s journey towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’, stressing that their choices over the coming decades would influence the nation’s future.

Addressing IIT Delhi’s convocation ceremony on Saturday, PM Modi said rapid technological advances and shifting global strategic equations would create both challenges and opportunities for the younger generation.

IIT Delhi awarded degrees to more than 3,000 students, including 587 PhD scholars, during the ceremony.

The Prime Minister said nobody could predict with certainty how the world would look in the next 20 to 30 years. Technology would transform industries, professions and working practices, but those who continued learning would remain capable of succeeding.

PM Modi encouraged graduates to consider how every professional and personal decision could address India’s needs and contribute to national development. Their work over the next 30 to 35 years, he said, would directly influence the country’s progress towards becoming a developed nation.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted government initiatives supporting research and innovation, backed by funding of up to ₹1 lakh crore.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ initiative, which provides access to leading international research journals, including for students and researchers in smaller towns.

During the ceremony, PM Modi presented IIT Delhi’s leading academic honours to meritorious students. He also virtually inaugurated Param Pragya, an AI-powered high-performance supercomputing facility at the institute’s Sonipat campus.

The facility will strengthen research in artificial intelligence, data science, advanced computing and interdisciplinary fields while supporting India’s growing innovation ecosystem.
