PM Modi Congratulates Over 3,000 IIT Delhi Graduates; Inaugurates Param Pragya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended IIT Delhi’s convocation ceremony as Chief Guest on Saturday and congratulated the graduating students, saying he felt proud of their achievements.

IIT Delhi awarded degrees to more than 3,000 students, including 587 PhD scholars, during the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said the students were not merely receiving degrees but also carrying forward their dreams of contributing to the country. He wished them success as they prepared to begin new chapters in their personal and professional lives.

The Prime Minister said the graduates would follow different paths after leaving the institute. Some might focus on their careers and salaries, while others could move to new cities or establish start-ups.

Despite their varied ambitions, Prime Minister Modi said they would share the satisfaction of remembering their journey from orientation to convocation.

PM Modi encouraged the students to cherish the occasion and remember the friends, teachers and support staff who had become an important part of their lives at IIT Delhi. He said their experiences on campus would provide comfort and inspiration whenever they looked back on their journey.

The Prime Minister also presented the institute’s most prestigious academic honours to meritorious students for their outstanding achievements. These included the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and Perfect Ten Gold Medals.

PM Modi called for more female academic achievers and inaugurated Param Pragya, an AI-powered supercomputing facility designed to advance research and innovation at IIT Delhi.
