A youth traveling to attend his sister’s wedding was shot dead near Karnamepur bus stand in Bihar’s Bhojpur district on Saturday evening, leaving the family in shock and authorities scrambling for answers.
The victim, identified as Raj Singh, was traveling from Ishwarpura village to Bihiya with his uncle on a Bullet motorcycle. The tragic incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Karnamepur police station.
Raj’s uncle immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Ara, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
According to Raj’s uncle, the murder was carried out by his friend, Saket, who was accompanied by four others at the time of the shooting. The uncle alleged that an old school-related dispute between Saket and Raj might have led to the attack.

“The murder was premeditated and likely rooted in a longstanding rivalry,” he stated, urging the authorities to act swiftly.
The Karnamepur Police Station is investigating the case, although no formal complaint has yet been filed by Raj’s family.
Station House Officer (SHO) Chandan Kumar confirmed that preliminary inquiries suggest a past dispute involving the deceased, but further investigation is required to confirm the exact motive and identify all suspects involved.
“We are taking the uncle’s statement into account and urging the family to file an official complaint to proceed further with the case,” SHO Kumar added.
The incident has sent shockwaves through Ishwarpura village and the surrounding areas. Raj’s family, already preparing for a joyous wedding celebration, is now grappling with his untimely death.
Authorities have assured the family and community of a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
