Yogi Government To Enhance Maha Kumbh 2025 With Grand Cultural Celebrations

The Yogi Adityanath government is set to elevate the Maha Kumbh 2025 experience with a series of star-studded cultural events that blend spirituality, tradition, and entertainment.

Renowned artists and Bollywood stars will captivate the audience with performances based on the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and the sacred Kumbh.

Celebrated actor Ashutosh Rana will present the dramatic performance ‘Humare Ram’, while actress and Mathura MP Hema Malini will showcase the dance drama ‘Ganga Avtaran’.

Puneet Issar, known for his portrayal of Duryodhana in Mahabharat, will also perform, bringing ancient India to life.

The cultural events will take place at the Ganga Pandal, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Culture Department in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Culture.

These performances aim to celebrate India’s rich heritage and traditions, offering an unforgettable experience for visitors.

Key Performances & Dates

Ashutosh Rana will perform ‘Hamare Ram’ on 25 January, followed by Hema Malini’s ‘Ganga Avtaran’ on 26 January.

Actor Ravi Kishan will present ‘Shiv Tandava’ on 8 February, and Puneet Issar’s Mahabharat will take center stage on 21 February.

Along with these performances, special cultural evenings will highlight the history and significance of Kumbh.

The celebrations will start on 22 January with a Kathak dance drama by Kathak Kendra and continue with various performances, including ‘Kakori Mahagatha’ by Bharatendu Natya Academy on 23 January, and ‘Kumbh Ka Safarnama’ by Maitreya Pahadi on 1 February.

The grand finale will however be ‘Kumbh Gatha’ on 23 February, presented by Reliance Entertainment and Sobo Film.

The cultural calendar also includes performances from various musical and dance groups.

On 11 January, Odisha’s Prince Group will present ‘Dashavatar’, followed by Madhava Band on 16 January and Grammy Award-winning Ricky Kej on 17 January.

Other performances include Manipur’s Bastar Band on 21 January, and Delhi’s Shrinkhala Dance Academy on 27 January.

In February, the celebrations will continue with musical performances by the Indian Ocean Band on 7 February, Agni Band on 17 February, and Maati Bani Band on 19 February.

On 20 February, Thaikkudam Bridge, a popular Sufi band, will perform, followed by Kabira Band on 22 February.

Special Cultural Highlights & International Performances

A key highlight of the Maha Kumbh 2025 will be Ramlilas from India and abroad, taking center stage at the Ganga Pandal.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations will present performances featuring folk dances from different countries on 18 January and 14 February.

Additionally, Shriram Bharti Kala Kendra will stage their renowned Ramlila performances on 15 and 16 February.

The cultural festivities also include a Kavi Sammelan on 20 January, featuring poets from across India, and a rare heritage folk instrument performance by Rajesh Prasanna on 21 January.

The events will conclude with a flute recital by Rakesh Chaurasia on 18 February, adding a harmonious touch to the grand celebrations.

These cultural programs will enhance the spiritual and cultural experience of Maha Kumbh 2025, offering both devotees and visitors a chance to immerse themselves in India’s vibrant traditions.
