As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to visit Mahakumbh Nagar and Prayagraj on 13 December to review preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025 and inaugurate several projects, the region is buzzing with festive fervor.
Government departments are working tirelessly to adorn their offices and buildings, ensuring the city is ready for the high-profile visit.
To add a celebratory atmosphere, government buildings across Prayagraj and Mahakumbhnagar will be illuminated with facade lighting.
Key intersections, roads, and parks are undergoing extensive beautification, creating a vibrant ambiance for the occasion.
The goal is to showcase the city’s cultural and spiritual significance ahead of the grand event.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit the region on 7 December to personally review the progress of the preparations.
This inspection will focus on ensuring that all plans are on track, especially for the projects slated for inauguration by PM Modi.
CM Adityanath has stressed the importance of a ‘clean and green’ Maha Kumbh and emphasized the completion of infrastructure and beautification projects before the event.
Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant shared that preparations are moving forward at a fast pace. He mentioned that the Public Works Department (PWD) is working swiftly on road repairs, while the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) and PWD are focusing on enhancing key roads and intersections.
The Municipal Corporation is overseeing the installation of street lighting and thematic illumination, while the Electricity Department is expediting the laying of power cables.
Additionally, they are installing decorative gates and structures to further beautify the region.
Ongoing efforts focus on maintaining cleanliness, especially around the ghats, ensuring a pristine environment for the upcoming religious gathering.
On 7 December, CM Yogi will also inaugurate the Khoya Paya Kendra and public accommodations in Sector 1 of the Mela area. He will hold meetings with organizational officials and review the final preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.
His itinerary includes inspecting several key sites, including the Alopibagh flyover, Triveni Pushp, the Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant in Naini, and Shivalaya Park.
