The Yogi government is preparing to make Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj a “Swacch Kumbh” with comprehensive cleanliness measures. To ensure a clean and organized event, the administration will deploy over 10,000 cleaning staff. They will install 1.5 lakh toilets and 25,000 dustbins equipped with liner bags throughout the fairgrounds.
A total of 1,45,000 toilets and urinals will be established for the Kumbh Mela. The administration will deploy over 300 sectional vehicles and jet spray cleaning systems to maintain hygiene. The 10,000 cleaning employees will ensure the upkeep of these facilities. Service levels will be monitored through QR codes, allowing for immediate rectification of any issues.
For effective waste management, the authorities will deploy 120 tippers and 40 compactor trucks. Each sector will have transfer stations, and GPS-based monitoring will ensure timely cleaning. The dustbins will have their liner bags replaced three times daily to ensure cleanliness.
In total, 10,200 sanitation workers will form 850 teams for the Kumbh Mela. The government has constructed special sanitation colonies for their accommodation. To ensure transparency, daily wages will be directly deposited into the workers’ bank accounts, guaranteeing fair compensation.
